So I decided to start the 101 Things to Do in 1001 Days Project. Read all about it here. Thanks to Silver on YDU for enlightening me on this fun project. I am going to start on April 4th, the day I get back to Australia from  California. Oddly enough, my end date will be 12/31/10. Perfect way to round out the year :) The total time for this mission will be 1001 days (33 months).

If I do this well, Ill have lots of fun things to do, lots to blog about and lots of money saved in various ways. Sounds like a great idea! Im getting a little lonely here so maybe doing something like this would keep me occupied. I havent had a good look through your site yet so I dont know how long or where you’re living in OZ. I saw a link to your blog on a comment you left on the yanksdownunder forum. Im 24 and from CA and living in Newcastle NSW since 2005. Where in CA are you from? Is your move here permanent? I hadnt planned on living here for this long but met a boy. Anyway, I couldnt find a place to email you on here so hope it’s ok to write to you just on the board.

Re: #91

Why can’t you get an NSW DL? I got one several years after I had been here. I was able to keep my WADL from the US and didn’t even have to take a written or driving test here, they just ‘converted it’ for something like $150 that lasts 5 yrs. It was way easier than I had anticipated.

Because they changed the rules to where you have to be a permanent resident OR be a temporary resident who has been in the country for 6 months. They actually can look at your passport to determine your last date of entry. I’m never in the country that long without leaving to go back home for a few weeks.

Hi Elsja,
What a nice blog! I like your stories very much, so I try to follow them in the future))
I am planning to do some tasks of your list as well, like no.7 or no 42. For the walks we use maps taken from the tourist centre at Rocks, they are very useful.
anyway, good luck for your list!
bye,
Emma
