Too funny. When I went to get my name changed on my license when we moved back to the US from Australia, I took in my marriage certificate to the DMV (which mine was exactly how you described as well), which of course attracted about four people all pouring over it trying to decide if it was some sort of fake or something with the Australian National emblem of a roo and emu at the top. Good Lord. It was ridiculous. I asked them should I bring in my wedding photos (sarcastically). “No, you could fake those too”. Are you fking kidding me? They finally accepted it, but I believe it was under duress. Stupid hicks.

ugh – I hate the DMV too. I hate registering my plates, I hate safety and emissions checks, I hate waiting for my DL. HATE HATE HATE!

The DMV was the ONLY place in the US that were rude to me as an Australian in the US…but my American friends said not to be offended…that it was pretty standard for their service. lol It was like they all hated their job!!! USCIS were nicer to deal with…and that’s saying something! Cheers!
