So I keep getting these early fraud warnings from Citi Mastercard telling me they’ve noticed odd charges on my card. Well on the letter it says “if you identify unauthorized transactions on your account, please notify us immediately.”

Well, I haven’t noticed any unauthorized transactions so I haven’t contacted them. But today, after receiveing about the 10th letter in the mail, I decided to give them a call.

The Indian man on the line told me there was a block put on my card because of suspicious charges and this is how the conversation progressed:

Me: “there’s a block on it??? I’ve been able to use my card”

Moron: “yes that’s right, you havent been able to use your card”

Me: “NOOOO… I HAVE been able to, I just used it a couple days ago”

Moron: “No there is a block on it”

Me: “I JUST used it”

Moron: “No”

Me: “Ummmm… yes. I’m telling you, I JUST USED MY CARD”

Moron: “I see a charge today from a phone company”

Me: Yes, EXACTLY. my card works fine!

**Ummm… did this guy tell me no I didn’t use it?? Retarded moron. Anyways, it continues**

Me: “Can you tell me when this block was supposedly put on?”

Moron: “Let me check (long pause), um no ma’am I’m sorry we don’t have that information.”

Me: “um ok, well can you tell me WHY it was put on in the first place? LIke what charges seemed suspicious?”

Moron: “Let me check (long pause), um it looks like they have been sending you letters since September 8th.”

DId this guy just tell me he didnt know when the block was put on, and then 2 seconds later tell me it started September 8th???

Idiots.

Anyways, I don’t think my card was ever blocked, they just kept sending me letters for no reason. Although I appreciate their intent, I don’t appreciate calling to clear things up and talking to incompetent people.

Here are some fun facts about this weekend and some of the events that occured.

1. It has already been 1 week since Shannon and Dougie’s wedding. SHEEEZ!!  This week flew by

2. It is only “5 night sleeps” (as my nephew would say) until Andrew comes! Yay. I already made dinner reservations at Tantalum and I can’t wait!

3. Today was the baby shower for Catherine Gale. It was beautiful and I still think Cathy weighs less than me and she’s like 8 months prego! She’s one of the cutest, tiniest pregnant girlies ever.

4. My 3 year old niece asked me “did you color your hair?” She is THREE and she is the only one who even said anything about my hair since I got it done… how observant :) Kids these days…

5. My mom turned 60 Thursday!! Happy belated bday!

6. Amanda turned 27 today and it’s the 1st year in 3 years that Jen and I haven’t been in New York to celebrate with her :( maybe next year! I miss New York!! (Amanda, I would say I miss you too, but I just saw you last week… hehe)

7. My e.coli or other weird stomach disease finally subsided… I hope. It’s been gone for 3 days and I hope it doesn’t come back.

8. Jen is a homeowner!! She gets keys to her place on Wednesday. All these weddings and home purchases… my friends are all growing up!!

9. Someone created a mechanical mom mannequin that actually gives birth for training purposes. Wow. Plastic dolls that give birth. Interesting. What will they come up with next?

10. And for an even weirder news story… click here.

Hmmm that’s all for my news update. Time for bed.

Ok, maybe she’s not gone forever… just 10 days on her honeymoon… but she is the first of our best friends to get married! Yes that’s right, I’m talking about Shannon Marcee HENDERSON, the first!! The wedding was spectacular, one of the most beautiful that I’ve been to. I’m so fortunate that I was able to share a part in Shannon and Dougie’s special day. I wish them the best of luck and the greatest love always. I really really wish Australians wore kilts because I want kilts at my wedding. Do you think it would be weird to have kilts even if I don’t marry someone from Scotland? HAH

Congrats again to the bride and groom and for a link to some of the pics, click here (I stole these from jen cause my pics suck!)

Her Last Weekend as a Single Lady October 9, 2006

Filed under: Good Times, Travels & Adventures — elsja @ 8:37 pm

Well Shannon’s last “single” weekend came and went quickly. It was well spent with 21, yes… 21 lovely ladies in Las Vegas!!!! I can’t possibly write about all the exciting things that happened… but I will share just a few of the more interesting/odd moments of the trip.

1. Death By Champagne:

Free unlimited champagne all night at Body English sounds great at the time… but the next day it makes you feel like ass!!693965491405_0_BG.jpg

2. Suck For a Buck:

Don’t worry, she’s not being molested, she’s earning money!!!! Sometimes I think it would be easier to just quit our jobs and do this every weekend! :) HAHA815748352206_0_ALB.jpg

3. Tub Time:

Who knew you could fit so many girls into a bathtub?? I must admit, we did have our doubts- but when we really put our minds to something, we make it happen!835083352206_0_BG.jpg

4. Tub Time Take Two:

Take two bottles of shower gel, add some blow up toys and a dash of alcohol and this is what you get! Can anyone find Shannon?145083352206_0_BG.jpg

5. The Wedding Rehearsal:

We had to get some practice in for this weekend’s big event! I like how half of the wedding party is getting drunk while rehearsing!992155491405_0_ALB.jpg

6. Stripping Aussies:

We all know that my favorite half-naked Aussie actually LIVES in Australia, so since I don’t get to see him often, I guess the Thunder from Down Under will just have to fill in for a moment. Jen just doesn’t appreciate the Aussies like I do!270266491405_0_BG.jpg

So that sums up just a few of the things we did this weekend! As you can tell, it was a little drunky and a little crazy and we all had A LOT of fun on Shannon’s last single weekend (especially Jen who won buttloads of money gambling)! Now it’s wedding time!!!!

Is This a Joke? October 5, 2006

Filed under: Uncategorized — elsja @ 6:01 pm

Ok… I was browsing itunes earlier looking for cool new songs and videos. I came across this:

cns1.png

Ok, am I seriously the ONLY person on earth who hasn’t heard this horrendous piece of crap before today?? I watched the first 30 seconds of this trash and decided to blog about how horrible it is so I looked it up on youtube.  I find this video that says “the chicken noodle soup dance is the latest dance craze!!!” pffft! Sure ok whatever I think in my head… BUT no, I’m pretty sure they are correct. Evidently a million people like to take videos of themselves doing this dreadful dance. Ummm obviously I AM the last person on earth to hear about this madness… See for yourself….

These videos were all added like 3 and 4 months ago- I had never even HEARD this at ALL until today. And if you haven’t had the chance to see this shit for yourself… have a looksee :) It’s entertaining to say the least, and not in a good way!

The Nine October 4, 2006

Filed under: I Love TV — elsja @ 10:38 pm

As if I need ANY more television shows to watch. It used to just be 3- Grey’s Anatomy, Lost and Desperate Housewives (and CSI, but I never watched it religiously- just whenever I happened to catch it). But of course it just so happens that I simply try to watch these 3 shows, and then I leave the TV on and some more new shows start and then I just keep watching and then BOOM!!! These are added to my growing list of must-see television. In the last few weeks I have added Six Degrees, Heroes, and Studio 60. All these shows are pretty good but tonight… tonight is the topper. See… the season premier of Lost started tonight and afterwards a little show called The Nine started. Is ANYONE watching this show?? HOLY HELL! Can we say intense?? All the other new shows have been pretty good, good stories, kept my interest… but I think this is the winner. If you didn’t watch tonight, then go to abc.com and watch the first episode and get yourself hooked like me. It’s only halfway through and I already love it. And to think, there was a time in my household for over a year that we didn’t have ANY TV at all. I’m not talking cable here… I’m talking ZERO channels. What did I do with my time back then?

What a bore!! October 1, 2006

Filed under: Tunes — elsja @ 11:07 pm

kt.pngMy life is utterly, completely and disgustingly boring lately. I have spent the last 2 weeks (since I returned from Sydney) sitting on my couch… or bed… watching TV. Literally, that’s all I do! Tuesday-Thursday I worked, and last weekend I did have some social contact at my sister’s b-day party… but other than that and going to the gym, I have done nothing but watch obscene amounts of TV. While watching TV, I have also managed to update my itunes, clean out some old files and order pictures.. oh and the highlight of the last two weeks… I went to Target. The strange thing about all of this??? I am actually choosing this life. I prefer to sit at home and be lazy and miserable. Why?? Who knows?? This weekend I did want to go to a movie or something but unfortunately that did not happen. One good thing has come out of this television marathon madness… I discovered a new CD that I like. I heard a song on a show, and so I googled the lyrics and found out it was KT Tunstall, who I have heard, but never really paid much attention to. Anyways, I love this song… mostly because it applies to my life at the moment. Sadly, I could not find a link to the video for the song, but it’s called “Throw Me a Rope.”  I’ve listened to a few clips from other songs on a different album by her and I think I will buy it- or get it for free from Jen. Oooh and as I write this, there’s ANOTHER nice song on this show. It’s got a good soundtrack. I can’t wait til the end of the show when they say “tonight’s episode contained music from…” Ahhh the joys of sitting on my ass at home 24/7!!
